Summary: “In summary, this study revealed some interesting findings related to airway dynamics in children with obstructive sleep apnea as compared to snorers The airway measurements using AR in this sample demonstrated larger nasal airway volume and area during upright position in children with OSA> moreover, the OSA group showed a significant decline in nasal cavity volume from upright to supine. These findings should be further investigated and highlight the need for a better understanding of the mechanisms of airway dysfunction during sleep. Acoustic rhinometry was found to be a promising non-invasive technique to measure nasal airway in children with suspected sleep disorder breathing and its use my assist the clinical assessment of pediatric sleep apnea.
